On a boat with two battery banks, it is useful to be able to charge both banks while sailing. The TACR-160 allows charging two battery banks from a single source, such as an alternator, but keeps the batteries isolated when not charging. This is to prevent one battery bank from discharging the other. Additionally, if one battery bank is depleted, there will be a charged bank available for emergency starting.
Features:
- Automatically combines the batteries during charging and isolates the batteries when discharging.
- Bidirectional operation.
- Automatic system voltage detection (12V / 24V).
- Combination for engine starting, in case of emergency, via remote switch.
- Battery protection against high voltages.
- Capable of switching up to 160 A.
