The Petzl SIMPLE Descender is a lightweight and compact device designed specifically for caving applications. It offers easy handling and is compatible with low-stretch kernmantle ropes ranging from 8.5 to 11 mm in diameter. Its reduced bulk and weight facilitate progression through narrow passages, and the pulleys can be rotated or replaced to extend the device's lifespan.
User-Friendly Design: The rate of descent is controlled by varying the grip on the free end of the rope. An installation diagram is engraved on the descender for easy setup. A safety gate on the openable side plate allows the rope to be installed while the device remains connected to the harness, facilitating the passage of intermediate anchors. The elongated connection hole enables the FREINO Z carabiner to be rotated, preventing the descender from being dropped when transferred from the gear loop to the attachment point.
Lightweight and Compact: Weighing only 240 grams, the SIMPLE Descender includes two aluminum pulleys to reduce weight. Its clean design minimizes the risk of snagging in narrow passages.
Durability: The device's lifespan can be optimized by rotating or replacing the pulleys. Replacement pulleys are available under the part number D004CA00.
