LOCTITE® 577 is a medium-strength, thixotropic thread sealant designed for general-purpose use on straight-to-straight and straight-to-taper threaded fittings. It effectively seals and locks threaded metal pipes and fittings, providing an instant, low-pressure seal that resists creep, shrinkage, and shredding. This product is particularly suitable for applications involving stainless steel without the need for surface activation. LOCTITE® 577 offers gap-filling capabilities up to 0.25 mm (0.01 inches) and cures even in the presence of minor surface contaminants such as cutting fluids, lubricants, anti-corrosion agents, and cleaners containing surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. It is also certified for use in hydrogen gas systems, meeting the performance requirements of KIWA GASTEC QA AR 214 for admixtures up to and including 100% hydrogen gas.
