- In poor condition: Remove all previous coatings.
- *Bare Wood:*
- Sand smooth with 80-180 grade paper, then 280 grade paper.
- Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting, and wiping.
- If wiping with solvent, allow to dry completely before applying the first coat.
- *Oily Woods (e.g., Teak):*
- Adequately degrease with Thinners No.1 and ensure the surface is completely dry before applying the first coat.
- Prime, if required, with Clear Wood Sealer/Clear Wood Sealer Fast Dry.
- Application Methods:
- Brush: Apply a minimum of 3 unthinned coats, sanding every 2-3 coats with 320-400 grade paper.
- Roller: If Clear Wood Sealer has been omitted, thin the first coat 10% with Thinner No.1.
- Spray: Airless Spray (Pressure: 176-210 bar/2500-3050 psi, Tip Size: 1365-1580) or Conventional Spray (Pressure Pot: 1-2 bar, Gun Pressure: 14.5-29 psi, Air Pressure: 8-10 psi, Tip Size: 1.8 mm).
Thinners:
