Hempel Silic One for propellers The biocide-free SILIC ONE antifouling kit is an innovative product made by Hempel with high performance results. With its silicone and hydrogel base, this product gives the antifouling water-repellent properties, reduces friction and protects the boat from fouling in the most effective way possible. Thanks to the hydrogel, microorganisms cannot attach themselves to the treated surfaces. The product's self-cleaning properties are activated even at low sailing speeds. SILIC ONE can easily be applied over old antifouling, as long as it is in good condition. The kit consists of: 1 x 375 ml of Silic One TieCoat 1 x 375 ml of black Silic One To be added (not included) Hempel Light Primer How to apply the Silic One kit ? Application method CASE 1 Propeller painted with AF Surface preparation - Remove old antifouling - Thoroughly clean the areas to be treated with Hempel's Degreaser and fresh water. - Sand with 80-120 grit paper. Wash thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry before proceeding according to specification (see below). Apply primer as quickly as possible to avoid oxidation.
