When Should I Rehumidify My Humidifier?
A humidifier equipped with acrylic crystals must be re-humidified once a month. This frequency can of course vary depending on several factors (size of your humidifier, number of cigars, number of times the humidor is opened, etc.). To carry out rehumidification, we advise you to place your crystal humidifier on a tray, sprinkle it with distilled water, and let it soak for at least 5 minutes.
Why Use Distilled Water?
Distilled water better prevents the risk of mold, unlike tap water which contains minerals reducing the efficiency of the humidifier, as well as bacteria and chlorine which promote the formation of mold.
