The CABESTO Two-Component Pneumatic Adhesive is a translucent, high-strength bonding solution specifically formulated for synthetic materials such as PVC and polyurethane. Ideal for repairing inflatable boats made of PVC, this polyurethane-based adhesive offers robust and elastic adhesion, making it suitable for both small and large bonding surfaces.

  • High Strength: Provides a durable bond for various materials, including plastic, metal, and elastomer parts.
  • Elastic Hold: Ensures flexibility and resilience, accommodating material movements without compromising the bond.
  • Hydrolysis Resistance: Demonstrates excellent resistance to water-induced degradation, enhancing longevity in aquatic environments.
  • Heat Resistance: Maintains adhesive properties under elevated temperatures, suitable for diverse climatic conditions.

Technical Specifications

  • Composition: Two-component polyurethane adhesive.
  • Color: Translucent.
  • Mixing Ratio: 5% hardener by weight.
  • Application Temperature: Between 15°C and 30°C.
  • Mixture Lifespan: Approximately 4 to 5 hours after mixing.
  • Curing Time: Optimal resistance achieved after approximately 24 hours.
  • Surface Preparation: Clean thoroughly with acetone or MEK, lightly sand, and remove dust before application.
  • Application Method: Apply with a brush or fine notched spatula, ensuring a uniform layer on each bonding surface.
  • Solvent Evaporation Time: Allow 10 to 20 minutes for solvents to evaporate before bonding.
  • Bonding Pressure: Apply strong pressure for 20 to 25 seconds to ensure immediate setting.
  • Porous Materials: For porous substrates, apply two layers of adhesive with at least one hour between applications.

Materials

  • Compatible Substrates: PVC, polyurethane, Hypalon, Neoprene, tarpaulins, pool liner fabrics, and other synthetic materials.
  • Incompatible Substrates: Not suitable for bonding polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), silicone rubber, foamed polystyrene, and certain plastics.

Compatibility Information

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
  • Curing Conditions: Allow a minimum of 7 to 10 days before exposing the bond to water.
  • Environmental Resistance: Suitable for use in marine environments due to its resistance to water and heat.

Additional Notes

  • Trial and Compatibility Testing: Given the diversity of materials and bonding methods, it is recommended to conduct trials or compatibility tests before full-scale application.
  • Safety Precautions: Follow all safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer during application and curing processes.
