- Before sanding, equip yourself with a mask, gloves, and protective goggles
- Using a ruler, cut pieces of abrasive suitable for your sanding block to minimise paper waste.
- Soak the paper to soften it before sanding the filler to prevent it from breaking.
- The abrasive paper must remain well-moistened during operations; otherwise, it will catch on the surface, reducing the effectiveness of the technique.
- Smooth the surface with a damp sponge as you sand.
