RS PRO 0.5 mm Lead Solder, 183°C Melting PointThis rosin-based lead solder wire from the RS PRO range melts quickly and flows smoothly during use. Rapid melting means oxidisation of metal surfaces is reduced. This wire is used with a soldering iron to fuse electronic components to a circuit board. The mild flux present in rosin prevents oxidisation and the residue left from use is non-corrosive and non-conductive of electricity. With a 60:40 ratio of tin and lead in the wire, its further resistant to corrosion. This ratio also creates mechanically strong solder joints suitable for electronic devices. The wire conforms to IPC-J-STD-004B specifications for regulating the flux used in solder wire. As part of the RS PRO series, its been stringently tested to ensure consistent quality.
