The Yachtcare marine lacquer is a single-component finishing lacquer based on alkyd, offering high gloss.
It is perfectly suited for laminated surfaces, wood, and steel, located above the waterline.
It is suitable for both interior and exterior surfaces. It possesses durable elasticity, is weather-resistant, stable to UV, and provides long-lasting protection against marine elements; for example, it is perfect for giving a glossy finish to shutters, gates, exterior joinery, and surfaces exposed to the elements.
The Yachtcare marine lacquer stands out for its good covering power and quick drying, allowing for reduced application interval times.
Coverage: 12m² / litre (equivalent to 9 m² / 0.75 litre pot)
Application:
The surface must be perfectly clean, dry, and free from any greasy substances. Previous layers must be intact and well-adhered to the surface. If necessary, sand them and carefully remove dust and residues. If needed, apply a primer.
Application temperature: apply in dry weather and temperatures between 10 and 30°C. Apply with a brush or foam roller. On unprepared surfaces, apply 1-2 coats of Yachtcare marine lacquer primer and 2-3 coats of marine lacquer for the finish. Regardless of wear, we recommend 1-2 coats of marine lacquer as a renewal layer. The flow can be improved by adding, if necessary, 5-10% of Yachtcare marine lacquer thinner. Maintain a minimum interval of 8 hours between coats, up to a maximum of 3 days (at 20°C). If this time is exceeded, the surface must be made rough by sanding.
