VICTRON CYRIX-I 12/24-400A BATTERY COUPLER
The Cyrix-i 400 battery coupler is a robust microprocessor-controlled switch that automatically connects batteries in parallel as soon as one of them reaches a predefined voltage (indicating that it is charging) and disconnects them when the voltage drops below the float level (indicating that one or more batteries are discharging).
The Cyrix battery couplers are an excellent replacement solution for diode separators.
The main advantage is the absence of voltage drop, thus avoiding the need to correct the charging voltages of alternators or battery chargers.
Priority to the Starter Battery
In a typical installation, the alternator is directly connected to the starter battery.
The service battery, and possibly a bow thruster and other batteries, are all connected to the starter battery via Cyrix battery couplers.
When a Cyrix detects that the starter battery has reached its engagement voltage, it closes to allow the parallel charging of the other batteries.
Bidirectional Voltage Detection
The Cyrix monitors the voltage of both connected batteries.
Therefore, it will also engage when, for example, the service battery is charged by a battery charger.
Intelligent Battery Control
Four different connect/disconnect profiles can be selected to suit local conditions.
Automatic range 12/24 volts and 24/48 volts, the Cyrix-i 12/24 automatically adapts to a 12 V or 24 V system.
The Cyrix-i 24/48 automatically adapts to a 24 V or 48 V system.
