Primary Epoxy Bi-component Antifouling - Adherpox

The Adherpox bi-component epoxy primer from Veneziani is a high-quality product designed to provide durable and effective protection against corrosion.

Ideal for boat hulls as well as superstructures, this modified primer is compatible with all marine construction materials, including aluminium.

Thanks to its special formulation, Adherpox creates a robust anti-corrosion barrier when applied in multiple layers.

It can be overcoated with any type of antifouling within 3 months or by itself within 6 months without the need for prior sanding.

This product also complies with VOC regulations, with a solids content of 55 ± 2% and a specific density of 1.30 ± 0.02 g/cm³.

Available in packaging of 0.75 L and 2.5 L, Adherpox is easy to apply and offers excellent adhesion on well-prepared surfaces.

Technical Information:

Application

Surface Preparation

Steel:

Wash with fresh water under pressure (200-300 bar) to remove any traces of oil and grease.

Perform sandblasting to grade Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1/3).

For surfaces covered with intact shop primer, commercial sandblasting to Sa 2 or mechanical cleaning to grade St 3 is sufficient.

The recommended roughness is 50 - 90 μm.

Aluminium, lead and alloys:

Wash with fresh water under pressure (200-300 bar) to remove any traces of oil and grease.

Sand with coarse grain discs P36 or perform sandblasting.

The surface must be uniformly renewed and covered with Adherpox on the same day.

Wood:

The substrate must be dry with a moisture content not exceeding 18%.

Sand with abrasive paper P80-P120 and blow clean, dry air to remove residues.

Composite (fibreglass, carbon fibre, etc.):

Degrease with an appropriate solvent or detergent, wash with fresh water under pressure and sand with abrasive paper P180-P220.

Blow clean, dry air before applying Adherpox.

Application:

Mixing:

Mix the product according to the ratio 3:1 by volume (82% base, 18% hardener by weight).

The pot life of the mixture is 5 hours at 20°C.

Weather conditions:

Apply in dry conditions and avoid extreme temperatures. The ambient temperature and that of the surface should be between 10°C and 35°C. Equipment: Use clean and suitable tools for application. Clean tools with an appropriate thinner after use.
