Application Method For The Nautical Sector:
To Achieve Good Adhesion, Surfaces Must Be Clean, Dry, And Free Of Grease, Oil, Dust, And Other Contaminants. In Some Cases, Adhesion Can Be Improved By Adding And/Or Combining Pre-Treatment Processes Such As Abrasion And Cleaning Before Applying The Actiator.
- Pass The Area To Be Bonded With A Clean, Damp (Not Wet) Paper Towel Soaked In Sika® Aktiator-205. Never Soak The Towel In The Actiator And Only Wipe The Surface With A Clean Side. Do Not Dampen The Same Paper Towel Twice And Change It Frequently.
- Sika® Aktiator-205 Should Be Applied Sparingly As Excess Actiator Can Cause Adhesion Failure.
- If The Pre-Treated Area Is Not Bonded Within The Maximum Flash-Off Time, The Activation Process Must Be Repeated (Only Once).
- The Ideal Temperature For Application And Surface Preparation Is Between 15°C And 25°C.
- The Consumption And Application Method Depend On The Specific Nature Of The Substrates.
- After Use, Tightly Close The Container Of Sika® Aktiator-205 To Prevent Solvent Loss.
