DuFLEX® panels are specially designed to reduce construction time and optimise the weight of high-performance composite structures. Time-consuming laminating and vacuuming steps normally required to manufacture high-performance composites are avoided, and material waste, labour and tooling costs are significantly reduced. They allow you to concentrate on your high value-added work. DuFLEX® panels are 2400 mm x 1200 mm with multi-axial glass fibre or carbon fibre skins (on request), laminated with a high-performance epoxy resin. Fibre orientation and bending schedules are based on design or engineering specifications to best meet weight and strength objectives, stress and impact loads, and other design parameters. All laminates are finished with peel plies to protect the laminate from contamination and to reduce surface preparation prior to bonding or application of paint or other materials.
Balsa wood standing timber has an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent mechanical properties, good thermal and sound insulation properties, high impact and fatigue resistance and good moisture resistance.
Z-joint (scarf cut option) DuFLEX® panels can optionally be supplied with both long and/or short edges pre-machined for easy assembly. The Z-joint provides a smooth and even surface profile. The Z-joint must be glued after impregnation with a mixture of epoxy glue and WS409 filler.
