AIS650 Class B AIS Transceiver
The advantages of AIS...
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) allows the exchange of navigation status data between ships and with coastal traffic monitoring stations via radio link on the marine VHF band. Commercial vessels, transoceanic ships, and other boats equipped with AIS transponders transmit AIS messages including the ship's name, heading, and speed, as well as the current navigation status.
- Transmit your position data. Using an AIS Class A or Class B ensures that you are seen by other AIS-equipped vessels.
- Ship protection. As part of a properly configured network, the AIS system allows owners to be alerted to unauthorized movements of their vessel.
- Port management. By facilitating the identification, control, and guidance of vessels, the AIS system proves to be particularly effective as a port management tool.
- Coastal traffic monitoring. The fusion of radar data and the AIS system allows for the creation of efficient and effective coastal tracking, monitoring, and navigation safety systems.
Automatic Identification System (AIS)
The AIS650 is an ultra-compact Class B AIS transceiver designed to deliver extreme performance and to integrate directly with your Raymarine navigation system.
Features of the Raymarine AIS650 Transceiver
- Two-channel reception - monitoring of Class A and B AIS emissions.
- GPS receiver 50 dedicated channels, RAIM compliant (Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) for unmatched accuracy.
- Silence mode available for hardware and software for safety or privacy protection. Silence mode disables the AIS transmitter while maintaining reception of other vessels' emissions.
- SeaTalk networking for easy integration into Raymarine e7, C Series Widescreen, E Series, and G Series systems.
- USB 2.0 port for plug-and-play connection to PC navigation systems.
- SD cartridge recorder for recording AIS data. The AIS650 continuously records AIS data to facilitate accident reconstruction or investigations (the available recording duration depends on the capacity of the used SD cartridge).
- Integrated NMEA multiplexer to simplify integration with older MFD displays, VHF radios, and products from other manufacturers.
Selective tracking
The AIS350 and AIS650 both feature Raymarine's exclusive selective tracking function when used with Raymarine multifunction displays. This function allows you to record the AIS targets of your choice and assign them a "friendly" name as well as a specific icon. Selective tracking makes it easier to spot your friends' or family's boats on the water or to identify other vessels.
Silence Mode
The AIS650 also features a hardware and software Silence mode that allows the captain to disconnect the AIS transmitter for safety or privacy reasons. When the AIS650 is connected to a Raymarine multifunction display, the Silence mode can be activated or deactivated at will from any screen connected to the network. This function is most often used by skippers during sport fishing tournaments, who do not wish to reveal the location of their favourite fishing spot, but it is also vital for both sailing and motorboating leisure users who, for safety reasons, wish to temporarily disable the transmission of their position.
Networking the AIS with SeaTalk
The new AIS350 receiver and the new Raymarine Class B AIS650 transceiver offer boaters high-end functions and performance in a housing that is 50% more compact than previous generation AIS transceivers.
The AIS350 and AIS650 are designed to seamlessly integrate with Raymarine multifunction displays and offer numerous networking connection options, including SeaTalkNG, NMEA2000, NMEA0183, and USB.
Their unmatched flexibility allows them to easily integrate with all onboard electronics, including...
