Absorbica energy absorber - PETZL

The Absorbica is a compact energy absorber, to be used in combination with a Jane lanyard to create a fall arrest lanyard.

Equipped with a tear webbing, located in an opening pouch at the ends, the absorber is protected from abrasion while allowing for periodic inspection. There are two options for installing it on the harness depending on the frequency of handling.


Designed to be used in combination with a Jane lanyard to create a fall arrest lanyard with a maximum length of two metres.

Absorbs energy in the event of a fall:

• - tearing of the energy absorber's webbing limiting the shock force experienced by the user,
• - works with users weighing between 50 and 130 kg,
• - staged tearing, to limit the deceleration experienced by lighter weights.

Minimal bulk: compact to avoid hindering handling.

Durable fabric pouch, with an opening system at the ends, to protect the energy absorber from abrasion and impacts, while allowing for periodic inspection of the absorber.

Two installation options on the harness depending on use:

• - frequent connections/disconnections: with a carabiner ( EN 362 : 2004 ; EN 12275 : 2013 ) held in the correct position by a STRING retention accessory (supplied with the absorber) or with a MICRO SWIVEL swivel (CE, EAC) to prevent twisting,
• - nearly permanent connection: with an opening ring RING OPEN (CE EN 362) whose circular shape ensures optimal positioning or with a SWIVEL OPEN swivel ( CE, NFPA 1983 Technical Use, EAC ) to prevent twisting.

• This product has been manufactured in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 for PPE (category 3) following the standard: EN 355: 2002
• Certification(s): CE 0082,  EN 355, EAC.
• This product must be used with a lanyard compliant with the EN 354 standard and connectors EN 362.
