AMEC Camino-108S AIS Transponder with Integrated Splitter
Enhance your safety at sea with the Camino-108S AIS transponder
The AMEC Camino-108S AIS transponder is a cutting-edge device designed to improve safety and navigation at sea.
Thanks to its integrated splitter, it allows for simplified installation using a single VHF antenna for receiving and transmitting AIS signals.
This AIS system is compatible with international standards and offers precise identification of nearby vessels, thereby reducing the risk of collision.
The Camino-108S Class B is ideal for recreational boaters, fishermen, and maritime professionals who wish to navigate safely.
With this small, robust unit, your data will be transmitted to other vessels equipped with AIS devices, and you will receive their data displayed on a chart plotter or PC.
AIS is the simplest way to reduce the risk of collision at sea.
The CAMINO-108S is a smart combination of AMEC Class B AIS with the latest antenna splitter from AMEC.
It allows you to share a single VHF antenna with the DSC radio in one unit, simplifying installation and reducing cabling.
The unit is designed to provide high performance and great reliability, resulting from our extensive field experience.
It contains 1 VHF transmitter, 2 AIS receivers on 2 VHF channels, and 1 MCU with cutting-edge software-defined radio technology.
The chart plotter and PC can be easily integrated via its NMEA2000, NMEA0183, or waterproof USB port.
The CAMINO-108S supports "dual GPS backup" to allow GPS input from both NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183.
This feature actively backs up your external GPS antenna to ensure the positioning and transmission of your AIS transponder.
The integrated splitter with zero insertion loss on the receive path and ultra-low insertion loss on the transmit path ensures optimised range for your VHF radio and AIS device.
The built-in test function provides a simple diagnostic in case of antenna issues.
Its built-in safety feature ensures priority for VHF radio operation even if the splitter experiences a power failure.
Simplified Installation
Thanks to the integrated AIS duplexer, there is no need to install a new antenna. Your boat's VHF antenna can now serve as both an AIS transceiver and an FM radio.
You can reduce power losses and fully utilise your radio and AIS simultaneously. This integrated splitter is optimised to minimise power losses.
Included GPS Antenna PA-02
This is a passive GPS antenna for Camino transponders. The antenna is equipped with a 3-metre long RG174 connection cable and a TNC connector.
This antenna is designed for applications requiring high GPS accuracy and quick positioning. The housing is robust and waterproof to IP65 standards.
To improve GPS reception, you can install an external GA22 GPS antenna.
