Treatment of ferrous metals before painting without rinsing. Deoxidation and passivation of ferrous metals. Leaves a protective adherent film that facilitates paint adhesion. Preferably used in a bath.

1. What is phosphating?
Phosphating is a chemical reaction carried out using a phosphorus agent to stop rust on metals. In contact with the product, the part or substrate is covered with an excess complex phosphate deposit. This dark grey film is extremely adherent and very resistant to atmospheric corrosion due to salt spray.

2. Phosphating of metals:
Before any phosphating, it is imperative to ensure that the parts or surfaces you are going to treat are well desalted to eliminate all chloride ions. D.P.H degreases, deoxidizes, and passivates ferrous metals in a single operation. Dilute the product at a ratio of one part product to two parts water. Spray the product using a spray, when you cannot disassemble the part, or better, immerse the part in the prepared bath (immersion for 5 to 10 minutes). Allow the parts to dry without rinsing. You will notice that a light grey film covers the treated substrate. This one is phosphated. You can paint after this treatment or leave the part as it is. Also, be aware that the action of D.P.H is slower at very low temperatures. OPHOS, phosphoric acid, deoxidizes and passivates ferrous metals while leaving a protective adherent film that facilitates paint adhesion. Like D.P.H, OPHOS must always be diluted before use. OPHOS does not contain surfactants, so this product does not act as a degreaser unlike D.P.H. OPHOS is particularly recommended for metal parts that can be disassembled and immersed. At the end of the treatment of parts or surfaces with D.P.H. or OPHOS, do not rinse. Allow to dry

OPHOS can also be applied by spraying or with a brush in the case of parts that cannot be immersed. First, ensure the substrate is well desalted.

OPHOS is never used undiluted.

In the case of heavily rusted and caked parts, it is advisable to dilute the product at a ratio of 500 ml of OPHOS to 1 litre of water. For lightly oxidized metals, dilute OPHOS at a ratio of 500 ml of product to 1 to 2 litres of water.

Acid concentration between 25% and 50%
