The LEWMAR VX1 windlass is made of 316 stainless steel.

It offers the same features as the VX range but with an efficient inline motor paired with a planetary gearbox.

This windlass is mounted on a composite/stainless steel base.

Its mixed drum, 15% lighter yet equally strong, consists of a bronze core and 2 ultra-resistant polymer flanges that hold the chain links.

This design allows for great durability, provides lightness, and offers quieter operation.

It has a mixed drum (thus compatible with chain and rope) and is equipped with a magnet for the chain counter.

It is a vertical axis windlass, so it requires minimal space in the anchor locker as its motor is housed under the deck.

This will allow for a reduced windlass height and make it more discreet on the deck.

The contact surface between the chain and the drum is approximately 180° (which allows for better chain retention).

This windlass includes a manual control so that the chain or rope can be retrieved manually in case of electrical failure.

Very quiet, lightweight windlass suitable for chain-only or 100% chain anchoring.

The VX windlass motor is waterproof to IP67 standards. According to the IP (Ingress Protection) standard, it is completely protected from dust (rating 6) and protected against the effects of temporary immersion (up to 1 m). In short, you can submerge your anchor locker completely underwater without damaging the electric motor.
