Heavy Duty Flap Kit - LENCO

The Heavy Duty series is designed and built for boats that need more strength to navigate in rough waters and at high speeds. 

The blades are made from 12-gauge (2.7 mm) electropolished 304 stainless steel, laser cut with 2.5 cm raised edges and a 5-degree taper on the inside.

Robust 6.4 mm diameter hinge

Full transom backplate with adjustable upper and lower actuator mounting brackets welded from stainless steel

Stainless steel mounting bolts and mechanical anti-tension cable seals. 

9.5 cm sacrificial anodes installed.

The kit consists of:

- 2 actuator cylinders 51.260.02 (LENCO reference 15055-01)

- 2 stainless steel flaps

- 2 extensions of 20' (6 m) 51.259.03 (LENCO reference 30133-103D) to connect the actuator to the control unit, waterproof Deutsch Connectors.

Control panel to be purchased separately.

WHAT ARE FLAPS FOR?

Electric flaps are almost an essential piece of equipment on a boat. 

Lenco even states:  “ these devices provide such significant advantages that their users are surprised not to see their installation systematically applied as standard on all models. ”

Indeed, flaps provide advantages to navigation, making it smoother and more comfortable.

Electric flaps allow your boat to consume less, to correct the trim, to be faster while increasing safety and thus prevent the bow of the vessel from rising when accelerating.

Steering boats is easier, the vessel tracks straight, and speed and performance are enhanced.

• Increased visibility enhancing safety: It is important to be able to keep the bow low at reduced speeds, particularly in congested areas and bad weather. Thanks to the flaps, the boat glides more easily at slow speeds, allowing you to navigate in better safety conditions.

• Fuel savings and increased propulsion efficiency: Allowing the boat to right itself more quickly means that the engine also reaches its optimal efficiency more quickly. By relieving the engine, the flaps significantly reduce its fuel consumption and extend its lifespan.

• Optimisation of performance and comfort of navigation: The flaps help to correct the trim of the boat, lifting the stern according to speed and load distribution.
