Compatibility Information

Marine Gloss - Jet Black is suitable for application on wood, metal, or plastic surfaces exposed to salt or fresh water. For optimal results, it is recommended to prepare the surface with a suitable primer, such as the Marine Gloss primer.

Application Instructions

  • Surface Preparation:
    • Clean with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water, and let dry.
    • Sand with abrasive grade 280/320.
    • Apply two finishing coats.
  • New Surfaces:
    • Remove all old coatings.
    • Apply a suitable primer for the substrates.
    • Apply two finishing coats.
  • Previously Painted Surfaces:
    • Lightly sand with abrasive grade 80/180, followed by sanding with abrasive grade 220.
    • Dust thoroughly.
    • Apply one to two very diluted coats (about 50%), then two normally diluted coats until the desired final appearance is achieved.
  • Thinning: If necessary, thin with Jet Black gloss thinner. Thinning should be between 5% and 20%, depending on the application equipment.
