The JET BLACK Spray Primer for Engine Paints is a high-quality aerosol primer designed to enhance the adhesion and durability of engine paints, ensuring a professional and long-lasting finish. Ideal for both outboard and inboard engines, this marine-grade primer offers superior corrosion protection and is compatible with various engine paints, including acrylic, polyurethane, and cellulose-based formulations.

  • Zinc-Based Formula: Incorporates zinc to protect metal surfaces from corrosion and strengthen the bond between the paint and substrate.
  • Universal Compatibility: Suitable for all engine paints, including acrylic, polyurethane, and cellulose-based types.
  • Easy Application: Designed for straightforward use with a quick-drying time, facilitating efficient application.
  • High Coverage: Provides coverage of 1.5 to 2 m² per 400 ml aerosol can.
  • Marine Quality: Resistant to salt, UV rays, and abrasion, making it ideal for marine environments.

Technical Specifications

  • Applications: Engines, outboards, propellers, and propeller shafts.
  • Substrates: Aluminum; lightweight alloys and zinc-coated metals; steel; properly prepared surfaces.
  • Color: Green-white.
  • Usage Characteristics:
    • Theoretical Coverage: 2 m² per aerosol can.
    • Surface Preparation: Ensure painting surfaces are degreased, sound, clean, and dry. Avoid application in direct sunlight, windy conditions, or high humidity.
    • Optimal Temperature: Spraying is most effective when the can is at room temperature (15-25°C).
    • Application Process:
      1. Shake the aerosol can well for about 2 minutes until the mixing balls are clearly audible. This ensures thorough mixing of pigments.
      2. Before spraying on the object, conduct a test spray on newspaper or protective paper.
      3. Hold the can approximately 25 cm from the substrate.
      4. Begin spraying off the substrate, moving the aerosol in a perpendicular, slow, and steady side-to-side motion, making turning movements away from the object (cross passes). This technique helps control the spray and prevents excess paint from forming drips and runs on the surface.
  • Materials: Contains zinc and other components formulated to provide corrosion protection and enhance paint adhesion.
