The rectangular Foldy from CAN is a stainless steel sink and 1 burner gas stove that tilts for the layout of vans, camper vans, or boats.
It fits into the kitchen worktop.
For designing kitchens in boats and camper vans, here is a very simple solution to fit out your boat or van, the Foldy foldable cooking plate, one of the most compact gas stove, sink + tap and glass lid combinations on the market.
Once unfolded, you have a real built-in sink of 350 x 320 mm and a gas stove that is as effective as it is aesthetic.
Made of high-quality stainless steel (sink and stove) by CAN in Italy, this combined gas stove + sink tap will add a perfect finishing touch to the interior of your boat, motorhome, or camper van.
What is this gas stove intended for, is it suitable for installation in a van or a boat?
The Foldy is designed for the layout of vans, camper vans, boats, and motorhomes.
Equipped with thermocouple safety features and fixed burner caps, it is compliant with European gas standards for installation indoors.
With its CE certification, it is suitable for VASP approval.
How to connect the gas to the combined gas stove?
Under the stove, there is a gas inlet RST 8 mm, which means a reinforced stainless steel pipe with a diameter of 8 mm (outer) designed to receive an RSV 8 mm fitting.
An RSV fitting is a bicone fitting whose sealing is achieved via an olive by compressing the pipe and the olive.
As the gas inlet pipe of the stove is reinforced, there is no need to add a crush-resistant sleeve.
For gas supply, this stove is CE approved for butane (28 - 30 mBar), GPL (30 mBar), and propane (30 - 37 mBar) and is therefore suitable
also if, like many, you have CAMPINGAZ gas bottles (R901, R904, or R907).
How to connect the combined sink & cooking plate to water?
First of all, it should be noted that the combination comes with its cold water tap, which is mounted directly on the stainless steel basin, and the connection to your water supply will be made via a 1/2" male threaded fitting.
You will also need a 3/8" female threaded fitting for installation in your vehicle or boat.
For drainage, the drain plug is not included, so you will need to order a CAN drain plug in 20 or 25 mm version (grid diameter 70 mm).
Note that the supplied tap does not have a mixer; it is a cold water tap.
How is this combination installed on the kitchen worktop?
On the worktop, the cooking plate is installed by embedding; it is best to glue it directly with a bonding sealant.
You need to prepare a hole of 335 x 305 mm, the depth is 180 mm without the drain in place.
For installation on the worktop, be sure to position it as far away as possible from a wall on the side to avoid obstruction when placing a stove and to prevent burning the wall.
As it is fixed by gluing, there is no maximum thickness for the worktop.
