Cabesto Polyester Laminating Resin

 The Cabesto polyester laminating resin is ideal for your repair work on polyester substrates (boats, bodywork, tanks, ...).

It will also be used for your laminating work (creating parts with glass fibre) in a mould or not.

The polyester laminating resin is used for coating, moulding, and casting masses.

As a casting resin, in combination with glass fibre reinforcement and fillers, it is perfectly suited for contact moulding and injection.

Particular application areas

Glass fibre army: Elements for the construction and repair of boats, automotive construction, coating of tanks, protective casings for machine parts, furniture manufacturing, and in construction.

With fillers: polyester concrete, casting of electrical connections, casting masses for artistic work.

Characteristics

- Pre-accelerated, thixotropic (does not flow) and optical control (changes colour after the addition of the catalyst).

- Used for impregnating mats or glass fabrics, on clean, degreased, and roughened surfaces.

- Apply a first layer of catalysed resin to adhere the glass reinforcement, saturate it until translucent, and so on as needed.

- Pot life approx. 20 min at 20°C with 3% MEC.

- Consumption: 3 times the weight of the mat or 1 time the weight of fabric.

- Between several layers, one can work wet on wet.

- Storage: minimum 6 months at 20°C in a closed container.

- Cleaning with acetone.

Advantage:

Provides a dry-to-the-touch surface.

The packaging in 2 kg and 5 kg is delivered without PMEC hardener.
