Camalot Z4 Camming Device

New standard for single-stem Camalots, the Camalot Z4 features the revolutionary RigidFlex stem design which, as its name suggests, remains rigid during placement but becomes flexible when you climb. It ensures a good grip and reduces the distance to cover for a solid anchor you can rely on.



Born from discussions with the best Black Diamond trad athletes, the Camalot Z4 is the fulfilment of a dream: to have a single-stem Camalot that remains rigid in hand but becomes flexible once placed. Here is the patent-pending RigidFlex stem. Thanks to its independently floating retaining cables, the Camalot Z4 does not flex when under tension or retracted, but once in place, it allows the stem to move and achieve an anchor that stays in place and does not shift when pulled in a certain direction. For the larger sizes, the stem also features a double twisted cable structure that provides uniform flexibility in all directions, while for the smaller sizes, a single cable is used to prevent deformation when pulling hard on the trigger and to reduce the trigger volume. With a head of the same width as the previous model, the Camalot C3, but with 4 sanded cams for better holding power, the Camalot Z4 is not just an improved version. It is also available in smaller sizes, ranging from size 0, the smallest Camalot ever made, to size 0.75, allowing you to adjust your gear whether you are looking for cracks at the summit or progressing lightly and quickly in the Alps.



TECHNICAL FEATURES:

The RigidFlex stem remains rigid during handling to facilitate placement, but softens once the cam is placed to reduce drag.

Double twisted cable for uniform flexibility for larger sizes, single cable for smaller sizes to prevent deformation and reduce trigger volume.

Narrow head for tight anchors.

Cams specifically treated for better pull-out resistance.

Light and strong Dynex sling with a unique colour code to easily distinguish it from other Camalots.
